Erica McDonagh

Vice President

Erica's Story

Recently retired from The Langham Hotel, Melbourne where I was Director of Quality. Prior to this I was the Director of Six Sigma, Black Belt, when the property was under the Starwood Hotels umbrella.

Most of my hospitality background was operational, in the Rooms Division department, dealing with strategic and logistic issues. I was responsible for over 200 staff as well as handling guest situations. I was also responsible for creating, training and implementing the company continuous improvement program worldwide.

I travelled to all of the Langham Hotels trouble shooting and mentoring Quality and Training Managers. I was very lucky to assist The Langham, London during the London Olympics. Clothes4U has given me an opportunity to continue using the skills gained while working in the hospitality industry. It is important to give back to the community, especially our local one.

Secretary

Barb's Story

Barb came to Australia with her family from Newport, South Wales in 1983, first settling in Mordialloc where they added to their family with a son. After a number of moves Barb settled in Rosebud.

Most of her working life was spent with leading Australian companies where she assisted a number of CEO’s in the performance of their duties.

Barb has worked at a corporate level for most of her career where she was instrumental in the creation and implementation of policy.

Subsequently, Barb established and ran her own successful business with her husband.

As Secretary, Barb utilises her communication skills, organisational ability, corporate experience, management and business experience in Clothes4U Inc.

Barb has been with Clothes4U since its inception and is one of its most devoted volunteers. She loves nothing more than seeing the transformation of clients from the time they enter the boutique to the time they leave.

Veronica Whittaker
Retired President

Dear Colleagues and friends of CLOTHES4U .

I recently resigned as President of C4U. It is both an emotional and exciting time for me as I move forward.

It has been a privilege to serve as President of C4U over many years.

To lead and work alongside such a talented and dedicated group of individuals has been a true honour.

Over the years we have accomplished so much together. We have helped countless individuals and families in need.

We have advocated for important causes and made a real difference in our community.  However, none of this would have been possible without the support and the hard work of each and every volunteer.  Their commitment to the mission has been unwavering, and it has been a privilege to serve along side a passionate and dedicated team.

As I move to the next chapter of my life, I have no doubt that C4U will continue to thrive and make a positive contribution to the community.  The work we did together was so important, and I am confident that future leaders will build upon the strong foundation we laid together.

Finally I urge you to continue to believe in the power of C4U.

Together we made a real difference and created a brighter future for all.

Thank you

Veronica Whittaker

I have recently taken over from Veronica, our President, who has worked tirelessly to get C4U where we are today.  I have been with her all the way over the past 10 years in a different role being part of the boutique committee and being at the coal face with our clients.

This is the role I enjoy very much after nursing for 50 years, a year before retiring a sought out voluntary work and C4U fitted my need.  It is a role that gives you great satisfaction when a client leaves feeling they are worthy that someone cares and they look great.

Not only do we see people in our shops both for men and women, we also organise packages for hospitals and several outreach organisations to meet the needs of their clients.

Above myself (Tina), Heidi (Alfred Health Worker from Frankston Hospital) and Elaine.  We were requested to supply care packages for 9 patients at Frankston Hospital when a crane fell through the roof and these patients were moved quickly without any clothes or toiletries.  It was great to have their sizes and be able to meet their needs.
